Day 1: Budapest

Arrive at the port in the afternoon and check into your cabin at your leisure. A welcome cocktail will be provided as you settle in, followed by dinner on board. In the evening, sit back and enjoy a cruise through the historic city of Budapest by night, while you are entertained with the culture, legends and history of the city.

Day 2: Budapest

Today there is a full tour of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, with its rising Buda Hills to the west, the Great Plain to the east, and the eclectic architecture everywhere in between. One of the most famous buildings, known for its Baroque architecture, is the Buda Castle. It dates back to the 13th Century and is located on the southern tip of Castle Hill. The largest building in Hungary, the Hungarian Parliament Building, is also worth a visit, if you have time. Later, there is an optional tour of Szentendre, which is a charming city located to the north of Budapest.

Day 3: Bratislava

You will arrive in Bratislava in the morning for a tour of the largest city in Slovakia. Bratislava has been known by many different names over the years, but its official German name, Pressburg, is one of the only alternative names still in use today. Directly above the Danube River, on a plateau, sits one of the most spectacular buildings in this city, the Bratislava Castle. The castle was built in the 10th Century, but has undergone many changes from Gothic to Renaissance to Baroque style. In the afternoon you will continue on to Vienna, the stunning capital of Austria. This evening there is an optional excursion, taking in the highlights of Vienna at night.

Day 4: Vienna

Today you will join a city tour of Vienna, taking in the main attractions. There are some optional tours available too, including the Hofburg Palace, which once housed some of the most powerful people in Austrian history. You may also choose to visit the Schoenbrunn Castle and watch the Sound of Vienna concert, which are optional activities.

Day 5: Vienna - Melk

As you sleep, the Amadeus Princess will sail towards Melk where you will arrive at noon. This quant little town is dominated by the majestic form of Melk Abbey, which is a monastic building built between 1702 and 1738. The optional excursion to Wachau will take you through smalls villages seated between medieval ruins and majestic castles, and you may also tour the inside of Melk Abbey and join a wine tasting session. In the late evening you will continue your journey towards Linz.

Day 6: Linz - Passau

Today you will arrive in Linz in time for sunrise. On the optional walking tour of Linz, you can see the main square that was erected between 1717 and 1723 and the old city hall. You may also take a city tour of Salzburg, where parts of The Sound of Music were filmed. This city was also the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. After a morning in Linz, you will cruise towards Passau after lunch, arriving late afternoon. You may choose to join a walking tour of the city before returning to the ship for the Captain’s Gala dinner with a show performed by the crew.

Day 7: Regensburg

You will arrive in Regensburg mid-morning. The city prides itself on being one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and is rich in history, dating back to the Stone Age. You may choose to take a walking tour of the city, where you can see some of the most spectacular sights in Germany. In the afternoon you will continue on your journey with the next destination being Kehlheim. You may wish to take an excursion to Weltenburg monastery this evening or spend your last evening relaxing in your new surroundings.
