Seine Princess

Paris to the Normandy Coast Cruise (5 Days)

The Seine Princess river cruiser provides comfortable accommodation, for up to 138 passengers, in 67 en suite cabins. Built in 2002, measuring 110 metres in length and 11 metres in width, she has 3 decks, including a spacious sun deck, from where you can watch the passing scenery. Other facilities include a restaurant, serving French inspired cuisine, a lounge bar and gift shop.

Embark the ship in Paris.

Day 1: Paris

Check in from 5pm and take some time to settle into your cabin before enjoying a welcome cocktail reception and dinner. The ship sets sail along the Seine (depending on the water level) for a magical tour of Paris by night. Enjoy views of the Eiffel Tower, Grand Palais, Orangerie, the Louvre museum and Notre Dame Cathedral. Overnight anchorage in Paris.

Day 2: Paris - Vernon

Rise early as the Seine Princess cruises along the Seine towards Poissy. Lunch is served on board the ship, followed by an optional sightseeing tour of Chateau de Versailles, one of the largest palaces in the world and also one of the most visited chateaux in France. Versailles is a grand example of French architecture and home to many significant masterpieces. (must be booked in advance through your travel agency - the Palace is closed on Mondays, the visit will then be replaced by a tour of the Château de Malmaison.) Return on board and start cruising towards Rouen.

Day 3: Vernon - Rouen - Honfleur

Rise early for breakfast. You may join an optional guided tour of Rouen, the former capital of Normandy, and visit its fine cathedral, historic quarters and the old market place where Joan of Arc was burned alive at the stake. Return to ship as she starts cruising towards Honfleur. Tonight is your gala dinner and evening

Day 4: Honfleur

Honfleur is your last port of call (arrival times in the port of Honfleur are subject to the tides). This splendid town lies at the mouth of the Seine at the point where it flows into the Channel. Join an optional sightseeing tour of the town taking you through the old port, which has barely changed since the 17th century. The quayside dwellings were very much sought after in those times and therefore only extremely narrow plots of land were sold. This explains the unusual architecture with tall buildings, sometimes up to 7 floors high! In the background, admire the church of St Catherine which was built entirely out of wood in the shape of a ship by local carpenters. Lunch is served back on board the ship, followed with more optional sightseeing of the city Deauville on the “Cote Fleurie”. During the second half of the 19th century, Deauville became the hotspot for well-to-do Parisians and film stars from all over the world. Discover the Côte Fleurie and taste some Calvados, the famous apple brandy. Or you can discover the Côte d'Albâtre with a hike across the cliffs of Etretat, whose natural arches are not to be missed.

Day 5: Honfleur

Enjoy your final breakfast on board before disembarking in Honfleur.

Disembarkation is in Honfleur.
