Safari Endeavour

Inner Reaches Eastern Coves from Juneau to Ketchikan (8 Days)

The modern and luxurious Safari Endeavour has been fully refurbished offering elegant accommodation for up to 86 guests and a range of upscale amenities. Onboard facilities include an intimate lounge area and wine bar, a spa with two hot tubs, sauna, fitness equipment and massage facilities. However the highlight remains the wilderness adventures and activities awaiting you.

Transfers between the airport and the ship are included. Please forward flight or hotel details well in advance of the cruise departure date.

Day 1: Juneau

Arrive into Juneau where you will be met and taken to join the ship. Settle into your cabin and join your fellow passengers for dinner on board as the ship rests at anchor in a remote and scenic bay.

Day 2: Endicott Arm - Fords Terror

Snow covered mountains, glowing blues, and the white thunder of calving ice at Dawes Glacier complete your last day. Gliding through Endicott Arm, you’ll likely spy harbour seals and their pups lounging on “bergy bits” in the water. And if the tides allow, explore Fords Terror—a narrow passageway with towering walls and cascading waterfalls.

Day 3: Stephens Passage

Today the ship navigates the remote fjords along Stephen's Passage - here you may observe the humpback and orca, who are frequent residents of these waters. A range of exhilarating activities are available including hiking through an other-worldly landscape of hanging waterfalls and emerald greens. Or investigate the wild inner reaches of a salt chuck—a tidal salt-water lake—by kayak and paddle board, keeping a lookout for bears, heron, moose, mink, and harbor seals.

Day 4: Thomas Bay - Wrangell Narrows

Bright red and green navigation lights guide you along “Christmas Tree Lane” as you cruise the winding Wrangell Narrows. Today you will step into the back country of Alaska's wilderness, in an area known for glaciers and rich in gold and quartz. Here you may enjoy a range of activities including kayaking, paddle boarding, skiff riding, or hiking.

Day 5: Wrangell

Arrive in Wrangell, one of the oldest towns in Alaska and home to native culture, wildlife, and wonder. Before venturing into town, local islanders join you on board for an in-depth presentation on Tlingit and Haida cultures. View recently carved totem poles at Kiksetti Totem Park and step inside the famed and historically significant Chief Shakes Tribal House.

Day 6: Behm Canal

Today you can paddle along the canal or venture out on an intertidal shore walk or low-elevation trek on the Cleveland Peninsula where wildlife abounds including orca, porpoise, seals, sea lions, brown and black bears, mink, marten, eagles, and otters.

Day 7: Misty Fjords National Monument

Affectionately called “The Yosemite of the North,” Misty Fjords National Monument represents nearly every ecosystem found in Southeast Alaska. Glacial valleys filled with sea water, and sheer 3,000 foot cliffs are a haven for sea birds, brown and black bears, mountain goats, Sitka black-tailed deer, mink, moose, river otters, and other wildlife. Glide through Walker Cove or Rudyerd Bay by kayak or explore by skiff soaking in the splendor of this largely forgotten corner of the world. This evening, join the Captain in a farewell toast and reminisce about your Alaskan journey over a sumptuous dinner.

Day 8: Ketchikan

After a final breakfast on board, the yacht will arrive in Ketchikan.

Disembark in Ketchikan . At the end of the cruise, you will be transferred to the airport or to your hotel. Please forward flight and hotel details in advance of the cruise departure.
