Douro Valley 6 Day Cruise

Discover the delights of the Douro Valley in Portugal aboard the brand new Miguel Torga, a five anchors class, three deck ship constructed in 2017. The ship is able to accommodate up to 132 guests in 66 modern and comfortable double cabins, on a variety of itineraries which represent excellent value for money. Cruise in a unique setting, amid unspoilt nature and breathtaking landscapes. On board, swim in the pool or soak up the sun on the spacious sundeck, complete with shaded area. This cruise ship also features a lounge bar with a dance floor and restaurant serving French inspired cuisine.





Embark the ship in Porto.

Day 1: Porto

Check in from 17:00 hours and settle into your cabin at leisure. There will be a presentation from the crew. A welcome cocktail will be served in the lounge, followed by dinner on board the ship. In the evening you may wish to join the optional coach excursion to explore Porto by night.

Day 2: Porto - Regua

After breakfast the ship will sail to Regua through the Douro valley where you can enjoy the passing forested landscape. You will pass Carrapatelo, the highest lock in Europe (35m), before arriving in Regua early afternoon. You will have the opportunity to join an optional excursion to Lamego and discover Nossa Senhora Dos Remedios sanctuary and the cathedral. Return to the ship in Regua for dinner, followed by a dance.

Day 3: Regua - Pinhao - Porto Antigo

You may join an optional excursion to Solar de Mateus in Vila Réal, a magnificent 16th century manor house owned by a noble Portuguese family with its beautiful French gardens. Return to the ship in Pinhao for lunch as the ship continues onto Porto Antigo, through the very heart of the famous Porto vineyards on magnificent rolling hills which rise to 700m before falling steeply down to the river again. Arrive early evening and enjoy dinner on board.

Day 4: Porto Antigo - Porto

Spend the morning cruising along the charming Douro river. Aperitif games will be organized in the lounge and lunch will be served on board before reaching Porto. You will have the opportunity to join an optional excursion around Porto, the second largest city in Portugal and one of the oldest in Europe. Discover one of the most famous wine cellars and enjoy a tasting session. Return to the ship for dinner. Enjoy a free evening in Porto.

Day 5: Porto - Guimaraes

After breakfast, enjoy a free morning, perhaps taking a stroll around the centre of Porto before returning to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to join an optional excursion to Guimaraes, a wonderful historic town, brimming with beautifully preserved monuments which date back to medieval times. Then you will travel onto Braga known under the name of the “Portuguese Rome”, one of the most attractive cities in Portugal. Return to the ship for a gala dinner and folk evening.

Day 6: Porto


Disembark the ship in Porto.
