Le Laperouse

Australia's Iconic Kimberley 11 Day Cruise from Broome

*SPECIAL OFFER** Save up to 30% on full prices. The earlier you book the better the discount available. Please call for latest special offers. Pricing shown here reflects full brochure price only. Launched in 2018, Le Lapérouse is the first of a new series of Explorer ships that remain true to the Ponant spirit, embodying the unique atmosphere that is the cruise line’s hallmark: a subtle blend of refinement, intimacy and comfort. The ship offers guests elegantly designed cabins, spacious suites with large windows, and lounge areas that open onto the outside, this new limited-capacity yacht boasting just 92 cabins and suites will offer you a truly unique cruising experience. Le Lapérouse will be the first cruise ship on Earth to be equipped with a multi-sensory underwater space, called Blue Eye, located within the hull beneath the water line.

Embark the ship in Broome.

Day 1: Broome

Arrive in Broome and board Le Laperouse. Settle into your cabin and explore the onboard amenities as the vessel sets sail this evening and you sit down to your first gourmet dinner.

Day 2: Lacepede Islands

Spend the day exploring the Lacepede Islands, a group of four islands lying off the Kimberley coast. The islands are known as important breeding sites for migratory shorebirds.

Day 3: Talbot Bay - Horizontal Falls

Arrive at Talbot Bay where you will visit one of the great natural wonders, the Horizontal Falls. The falls are located where the McLarty range breaks approximately 300 metres apart. As seawater builds up on one side of the gaps it creates a waterfall of up to 5 metres in height on a king tide.

Day 4: Freshwater Cove

Arrive at Freshwater Cove, which boasts vast white beaches, ancient cave paintings and spectacular red rock formations.

Day 5: Montgomery Reef - Raft Point

Visit the spectacular Montgomery Reef, located off the Kimberley coast which appears to rise from the sea on a falling tide and encompasses a total area of 400 square kilometres. It is particularly special as the tide goes out revealing hundreds of cascading waterfalls, vast lagoons and mangrove which attracts migratory wading birds, manta rays, sharks and feeding turtles.

Day 6: Hunter River - Mitchell Falls

Today the ship enters the Hunter River to the Mitchell Falls. The landscape is rugged and breathtaking, its coastline is carved by tidal channels and backed with mangrove forests and wetlands. You may be able sight a great variety of birds and salt water crocodiles.

Day 7: Swift Bay

Today the ship arrives at Swift Bay, a stunning area of coastline with rocky inlets and white sandy beaches.

Day 8: Vansittart Bay

Arrive at Vansittart Bay, a wonderful protected bay with numerous coves and small islands. Here is one of best places to view Bradshaw painting over 20,000 years old and a famous historical site of WWII. An allied DC3 aircraft lies in the scrub land on the eastern shore.

Day 9: King George River

Spend the day enjoying the natural beauty of Koolama Bay located at the mouth of King George River. The scenery is incredible, particularly so at King George Falls which has a drop of 80 metres.

Day 10: At Sea

Spend the day at sea relaxing aboard Le Laperouse as she sails towards Darwin.

Day 11: Darwin

After your final breakfast disembark the ship in Darwin.
