Isabela II

Southern Galapagos 5 Day Cruise (departing Fridays)

The Isabela II is one of the most luxurious yachts operating in the Galapagos Islands. From dining room to stateroom, guests aboard the Isabela II will enjoy superior quality at all levels of service. Specifically designed for the longer 7-night Galapagos cruise expedition, this vessel features three public decks, 20 outside twin cabins and a library containing a large selection of reference books on the Galapagos and Ecuador as well as excellent nature and conservation videos. Guests can also make use of the snorkeling equipment, glass bottom boat and kayaks. The Isabela’s expedition team consists of three Naturalists who will delight guests with diverse natural history explanations, while the Captain and crew members are on hand to attend to your every need. The





Arrive at Baltra Airport and transfer by ferry to Santa Cruz Island. After lunch and a excursion to the Charles Darwin Research Station you will board Isabella II.

Day 1: Balta Airport - Santa Cruz Island

Arrive at Balta Airport and transfer by ferry to Santa Cruz Island. You will then take a 30 minute bus journey to a local restaurant in the Highlands of Santa Cruz. You will then visit the Charles Darwin Research Centre and the giant tortoise pens within an impressive giant prickly-pear cactus forest home to many land birds. Late afternoon stroll along the main street of Puerto Ayora before embarking on Yacht Isabela II.

Day 2: Post Office Bay - Baroness Cove/Cormorant Point (Floreana Island)

After breakfast you will land at Post Office Bay and visit the historic barrel that has served as a post office in the archipelago for over 200 hundred years. Here you can enjoy snorkelling off the beach. You will then move onto Punta Cormorant to an olivine-crystal beach for an easy walk by a brackish water lagoon where bird species like greater flamingos may be observed. On the other side of the island, you will arrive at a white-sand beach where sea turtles come out at night to nest. It's normally possible to snorkel at Champion Islet, panga ride or ride the glass bottom boat.

Day 3: Punta Suárez - Gardner Bay (Española Island)

Your morning excursion is to Punta Suarez providing an exciting walk on lava and boulder terrain to visit its unique sea bird colonies including boobies, swallow-tail gulls and the famous blowhole. After lunch on board the ship the afternoon will be spent at the beautiful white coral beach at Gardner Bay. From there you may walk to observe the sea lions, mockingbirds and finches or simply relax on the beach. The area is also good for snorkelling, kayaking or riding on the glass-bottom boat.

Day 4: Punta Pitt - Cero Brujo (San Cristobal Island)

In the morning land at the eastern top of the island. Follow a trail from the beach providing spectacular views of the shoreline and it is the only site in the Galápagos where the three species of boobies can be found together. If weather conditions are right you may enjoy kayaking, swimming or snorkelling from the beach. In the afternoon you will take a dinghy ride along the shore to Cerro Brujo's expansive white coraline beach - perfect for birdwatching.

Day 5: Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristóbal Island)

After a final breakfast on board the ship, it is time to disembark in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno for your onward journey.
