Maguari 4 Day Cruise

The Desafio is a modern and newly renovated 24 passenger river vessel offering fascinating cruises on the Amazon and Negro rivers. The vessels interior displays warm wooden furnishings and modern elegant decoration. Fully air-conditioned it offers many of the same amenities found on larger ships with a nicely appointed restaurant and bar and large large sundeck with outdoor bar.

Embark the ship in Manaus.

Day 1: Manaus

Arrive in Manaus and transfer to the river where the Desafio will be waiting for you. Settle into your cabin and then meet the multilingual naturalist guide who will host a “welcome to the Amazon” briefing highlighting the broad spectrum of life in this unique region. Commence sailing around "Tres Bocas", located in the archipelago of Anavilhanas, the largest river archipelago in the world, with its lakes, islands, creeks and flooded forests. This evening enjoy dinner onboard. Dinner on board. Later you may enjoy a pleasant journey by canoe for the opportunity to hear the sounds of the jungle.

Day 2: Anavilhanas Archipelago

An early start today as you listen to the sounds of the jungle before returning to the ship for breakfast. In motorized canoes, journey along the river to some nature trails to observe the flora and fauna of the region. Return to the ship. Lunch on board while cruising towards the indigenous community "Terra Preta", which will give you the opportunity to meet the locals and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Return to the ship as she sails towards Jaraqui' village. Travel by motorized canoes on a pleasant river expedition. You will land ashore for an interesting jungle trek to explore the fauna and flora. Later return to the ship. Dinner onboard.

Day 3: The meeting of the waters

After breakfast sail to a local village named 'Acajatuba'. On the way, stop at the floating station 'Recanto dos Botos' to interact with the pink dolphins, and feed the famous fish 'Pirarucu', known as the cod of the Amazon. Lunch on board. Continue along the Negro River towards the borders of the Solimões until the ship reaches the “meeting of waters”, where the Negro and Solimoes rivers meet to form the great Amazon River. The cruise continues to 'Janauari' Lake for another exciting experience, fishing the piranha, the dreaded Amazonian fish. After dinner on board the ship enjoy a canoe ride along the streams in search of caimans and other nocturnal animals with flashlights.

Day 4: Manaus

After breakfast depart to see the giants and beautiful Amazonian water lilies, another opportunity to explore the Negro River. Return aboard starting the return trip to Manaus arriving at 11:00h where you will disembark the ship.
