Danube Cruise from Vienna

The Crucestar river cruiser accommodates up to 154 passengers comfortably in a range of cabins from standard to deluxe. All cabins have a shower and wc, satellite television with a channel showing live camera footage from the front of the ship, a hairdryer, safe, telephone. Public areas include a large lounge bar located at the front of the upper deck and a restaurant located to the rear of the upper deck. The Sundeck offers great panoramic views of the river and is equipped with chairs, tables, Jacuzzi and giant chess board.

Day 1: Vienna

Arrive in Vienna where you will board the Crucestar from 4pm. Settle into your cabin, then meet your fellow passengers and crew at a Welcome buffet.

Day 2: Vienna

Spend a full day in the city of Vienna where you may explore at leisure or join an optional bus and walking tour. See the famous Ringstrasse, the State Opera, Hofburg Palace and the Belvedere Palace? In the afternoon you may wish to visit Schoenbrunn Palace or spend some time in one of the many elegant cafes for which the city is known. The ship departs for Durnstein late evening.

Day 3: Durnstein - Melk

Arrive in Durnstein early morning. Explore this pretty riverside town full of colourful riverside buildings and interesting cobbled streets. You may even venture up the hill to the ruins of medieval castle which sits overlooking the town. In the afternoon arrive in Melk where you can visit the impressive Benedictine Abbey on an optional excursion.

Day 4: Linz

Arrive in the attractive town of Linz which lies on the river Danube. The city became a UNESCO city of Media Arts in 2014, a contemporary art hub which also boasts wonderful baroque architecture. Discover the city's numerous art galleries and museums as well as many murals and art installations dotted around the city.

Day 5: Bratislava

Arrive in Slovakia, calling at the capital, Bratislava. Here you can join an optional city walking tour, taking in the cathedral, the lovingly restored city centre and the Primate's Palace with its famous tapestry exhibit and gallery. The ship will depart Bratislava in the evening.

Day 6: Budapest

Arrive in Budapest in the morning where you may spend the day exploring this historical city. Here you may join an optional bus and walking tour around the city, visiting all the major sites on both sites of the river.

Day 7: Esztergom

Spend the morning in Esztergom, a town that rises from the surrounding countryside to show a huge Basilica sitting high above the town. Not only is Hungary's largest cathedral extremely impressive you will also find lovely medieval streets to explore.

Day 8: Vienna

Your Danube river cruise ends in Vienna where you will disembark the ship after breakfast.
