From Burgundy to the Camargue along the Saone and the Rhone Rivers

Discover the beauty and rich history of Southern France aboard the Camargue. The ship was refurbished in 2006 and has just 76 cabins spread over 2 decks. The Camargue features a lounge bar with dance floor and a large dining room. It also boasts an inviting sun deck where you can soak up the sun and admire the passing scenery. ****Please note that this is a French-operated ship and that French will usually be the first language spoken on board.****





Embark the ship in Lyon.

Day 1: Lyon

Check in from 6pm and take some time to settle into your cabin as the ship sets sail to the South of France. Dinner tonight will be followed by an evening of entertainment.

Day 2: Lyon - Macon

Wake up moored in Lyon where you will spend the day exploring this thriving city. Join an optional guided tour of Lyon where you'll discover its famous "traboules", types of passageways that are typical of the city. Alternatively join an optional bike ride through the main monuments and districts of Lyon followed by a tasting of local products in the heart of the old town. Return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising to Mâcon. Enjoy dinner and an evening of dancing.

Day 3: Macon - Vienne

Today you may choose an optional excursion of the Abbey ruins in Cluny or a guided tour on foot of Mâcon, capital of the Beaujolais, followed by a tasting of local products. Return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising to Vienne. Enjoy an evening of entertainment. Reach Vienne later this evening.

Day 4: Vienne - Arles

Today you may join an optional tour of Vienne or explore Vienne on a Segway for an original tour of this charming “Gallo-Roman” city known for its art and history. Return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising. Enjoy dinner and an evening of entertainment.

Day 5: Arles, The Camargue

Today you will visit Arles and a local olive oil producer's. In the afternoon, join an optional excursion to discover the Camargue. Visit a "manade" (horse breeding farm) and learn about how a manadier works with the animals. Alternatively join a Safari in jeeps through the Camargue for an original immersion in the wilderness. Return to the ship for dinner and an evening of traditional Provençal entertainment.

Day 6: Arles - Avignon - Viviers

Today you may join an optional guided tour of Avignon and the Papal Palace. Alternatively join an optional hike along the Pont du Gard and visit to the museum. Return to the ship and spend the afternoon cruising. Join an optional excursion for both packages: Guided tour of Viviers.

Day 7: Viviers - Tournon - Lyon

This morning will be spent cruising. Later join an optional guided tour of Tournon. Visit the imposing Castle-Museum of Tournon-sur-Rhône followed by a tasting of local wines and regional delicacies. Or leave on foot for the Cité du Chocolat in Tain l’Hermitage. Come and explore, smell and taste chocolate in all of its forms at the Valrhona discovery center. Return on board. Tonight’s gala dinner and evening. Your ship will cruise towards Lyon during the night.


Disembark the ship in Lyon.
