Enchanting landscapes and cultures in Spain and Portugal 8 Day Cruise

Discover the beauty of Southern Spain aboard the Belle de Cadix; rich in history, nature and art, this diverse region will inspire and delight you. The Belle de Cadix was launched in 2005 and has just 89 cabins spread over three decks. She has an inviting sun deck where you soak up the sun on comfortable loungers. This cruise ship also features a lounge bar with dance floor and a marina at the rear of the vessel, which offers direct access to the sea. ****Please note that this is a French-operated ship and that French will usually be the first language spoken on board.****





Embark in Seville at 18.00hrs.

Day 1: Seville

Check in from 18:00 hours and settle into your cabin at leisure. There will be a presentation from the crew. A welcome cocktail will be served in the lounge, followed by dinner on board the ship. Enjoy a free evening in Seville.

Day 2: Seville - Cordoba

After breakfast, join an optional guided tour of Cordoba and its magnificent Mosque-Cathedral and decorated patios. Alternatively join an optional discovery tour visiting the courtyards and gardens of Cordoba.

Day 3: Seville - Cadiz

After breakfast, join an optional guided tour of Seville. Explore the cathedral, the stunning Alcazar Palace and its Andalusian gardens, the Maria Luisa Park and the seductive district of Santa Cruz. Alternatively explore the city on an optional guided bike tour of Seville passing the most beautiful monuments of the city. The afternoon will be spent sailing. Tonight, join an optional excursion for both packages : Flamenco evening.

Day 4: Cadiz - Jerez

After breakfast, join an optional excursion to Jerez, capital of wine and horses and the birthplace of flamenco song and visit to a “ganadería" (a property where bulls are raised) with the chance to learn about this living symbol of Spanish culture. You may also hike along the oceanfront in Cadiz to the Castle of San Sebastián, followed by a tasting of local products. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

Day 5: Alcoutim - Vila Réal de St Antonio - Faro

Enjoy breakfast as the ship sails up river to Sanlucar de Guadiana passing some wonderful landscapes and villages. Enjoy some free time in the town before returning to the ship for lunch, where the cruise continues onto Vila Réal de St Antonio or Ayamonte. You will have some free time to wander around the town centre or head to the beach. It's also possible to take an optional tour to Faro, once an important centre for Roman trade and then a Moorish city, before becoming an important provincial city after the Christian conquest in 1249. In 1580, the city became the regional capital. Dinner on board the ship has a Portuguese theme followed by an evening of traditional Portuguese entertainment. The ship sails through the night to El Puerto de Santa Maria.

Day 6: El Puerto de Santa Maria - Isla Minima

Today you may enjoy an optional tour of the Osborne cellar and tasting of local wines. You may also hike in Sanlucar de Barrameda through then Doñana National Park, one of the largest biosphere reserves in Europe. In the afternoon enjoy cruising to Isla Minima passing through the Doñana National Park, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, and the city of Sanlucar de Barrameda, where the river joins the Atlantic Ocean. Tour a genuine Andalusian hacienda located on the banks of the Guadalquivir followed by an equestrian show. Return on board and cruise to Seville.

Day 7: Seville - Granada - Seville

After breakfast, join a full day excursion to Granada. This grandiose and verdant site owes its prestige to its Moorish monuments, especially the Alhambra: a palace straight out of the 1001 Nights and to the Generalife, a pleasure palace with attached romantic gardens. Return on board after our tour for our gala evening and dinner.

Day 8: Seville

After a final buffet breakfast on board, disembark in Seville at 09:00 hrs.
