Embark the ship in Noumea, New Caledonia.

Day 1: Noumea

Arrive in Noumea and board Austral. Settle into your cabin and explore the onboard amenities as the vessel sets sail this evening and you sit down to your first gourmet dinner.

Day 2: Amedee Island

Your first destination is Amedee Island, located a short distance from Noumea. Amedee Lighthouse Island is a natural protected marine reserve and one of the New Caledonia’s highlights. It boasts crystal clear waters and stunning white sandy beaches.

Days 3-4: At Sea

Spend the next few days at sea as Austral gently sails towards Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

Day 5: Bay of Islands

Arrive at the Bay of Islands, a subtropical micro-region known for its stunning beauty. The area is rich in marine life including penguins, dolphins, marlin, whales, gannets and more. Enjoy the beautiful white sandy beach, stunning tropical views and wildlife.

Day 6: Auckland

Arrive at the vibrant city of Auckland located on North Island and situated around two large harbours. You will find wonderful beaches, year-round golf, fine restaurants and cafes and access to a plethora of outdoor adventures.

Day 7: Tauranga

Arrive in Tauranga, a harbourside city in the Bay of Plenty region. Tauranga’s harbour is sheltered from the open ocean by Matakana Island and Mount Maunganui and also the city's main entertainment hub with a numerous restaurants, cafes and bars. You will also find a growing local art scene with a number of galleries and creative art market.

Day 8: At Sea

Spend the day at sea as the ship sails towards Wellington.

Day 9: Wellington

Arrive in the thriving city of Wellington, nestled between a glorious harbour and rolling green hills. The capital city is renowned for its arts, heritage, culture and native beauty with an abundance of outdoor adventures available including mountain biking and sea-water kayaking. You can also discover the city's Maori roots at the Museum of Wellington City & Sea and the Museum of New Zealand.

Day 10: Akaroa

Arrive at Akaroa, a small town on Banks Peninsula in the Canterbury region of the South Island of New Zealand. The town boasts beautiful bays and harbour with French and English history and has an enormous range of activities to keep you busy for days. Explore its magnificent harbour, historic buildings and restaurant and cafe scene.

Day 11: At Sea

Spend the day at sea as the ship sails towards Milford Sound.

Day 12: Sailing through Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound

Spend the day sailing through Milford Sound, a fjord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island. Be amazed by the dark waters, mountain peaks and waterfalls that cascade downwards, some as high as 1000 metres. Continue to Doubtful Sound, a vast and untouched wilderness and a very large and naturally imposing fjord. The fjord is rich in flora and fauna, New Zealand Fur Seals and Fiordland Crested Penguins can be seen on many of the small islets.

Day 13: Sailing through the Dusky Sound

Discover the natural beauty of Dusky Sound as the ship spends the day sailing through the rich and spectacular landscapes.

Day 14: Dunedin

Your cruise comes to an end this morning as you disembark in Dunedin for your onward journey.


Disembark the ship in Dunedin, New Zealand.
