Day 1: Lyon

Board the A-Rosa Stella in Lyon where you will be welcomed by the crew. In the evening, the ship will take a leisurely cruise through Lyon's Old Town as you enjoy your first gourmet dinner on board.

Day 2: Mâcon

The A-Rosa Stella arrives into Mâcon in the early hours and you have the rest of the day to explore the southernmost town of the Burgundy region. Here, you will notice that the town has a slight Mediterranean feel, with canal tile roofs and buildings painted in soft pastel colours.

Day 3: Chalon-sur-Saône

Your cruise continues north to Chalon-sur-Saône. With its rich cultural heritage and traditions, this town represents a magnificent image of the Burgundy region. From here, you can join an optional excursion into the heart of Burgundy, passing through the notable wine villages of Pommard, Mersault, Chassagne and Puligny. In Beaune itself you will have time to stroll around the picturesque old town and you will visit one of the leading wine producers of the region. During the afternoon, you may wish to take an optional cycling tour along the ‘Chemin Vert’, a path surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in Southern France. In the early evening, the A-Rosa Stella makes a brief stop at Tournus where you can disembark for an optional visit to the fascinating cloister at Cluny. After the trip, return to the ship as she turns and heads south towards Lyon.

Day 4: Lyon

The A-Rosa Stella will spend the best part of the day in Lyon, a stunning city located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône. Here, you can join an optional tour of the city which will take you to the old town, or Vieux Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also visit an old silk printing shop to learn about the French silk industry which made Lyon the city it is today.

Day 5: Chateauneuf-de-Pape

Today's port of call is the ancient city of Châteauneuf-du-Pape firmly entwined with papal history. In 1308, Pope Clement V, former Archbishop of Bordeaux, relocated the papacy to the city of Avignon. While the Avignon Papacy did much to advance the reputation of wines from Burgundy, the papacy also promoted viticulture in the surrounding area, more specifically the area 5–10 km north of Avignon, close to the banks of the Rhône River

Day 6: Avignon - Arles

The morning is free for you to explore Avignon further at your own pace. Reboard the ship in time for lunch and during the afternoon, your cruise continues south to Arles. The afternoon's optional tour takes you into the heart of the Camargue, an area known for its white horses, flamingos and wonderful beaches. Visit the lovely village of Saintes Maries de la Mer with its Gypsy Church.

Day 7: Viviers - La Voulte

Arrive in Viviers in the Southern Ardèche. The beautiful village is a relaxing place to spend the afternoon. From here you may join a number of optional excursions including a bike tour, kayak adventure or an optional excursion to Grignon Renaissance Castle and the Southern Ardeche. At lunchtime, the A-Rosa Stella calls at La Voulte, a beautiful french village in the heart of the Ardèche before continuing her journey north along the Rhône.
