Canal du Midi Cruise from Marseillan to Le Somail (7 Days)

The 8-passenger Anjodi is of classic Dutch design, specifically rebuilt to navigate the 300-year-old Canal du Midi. She has been completely refurbished in the tasteful tradition of African hardwoods, with hand-crafted panelling and shining brass creating a comfortable and charming ambiance. The well planned accommodation offers a choice of four air-conditioned twin/double staterooms with full en-suite facilities. The sun deck is spacious and has a heated sunken jacuzzi. The cruise is led by a knowledgeable and experienced Captain who will ensure a memorable and enjoyable journey.

Come on board the Anjodi and travel along the Canal Du Midi on a course from Mareillan to Beziers that will take you through regions famous for wine, natural beauty and rich history. The charming hotel barge has been cruising the Canal du Midi for over 25 years and has been more popular than ever since Rick Stein boarded Anjodi to explore French culinary tradition for his very successful TV series 'French Odyssey'. Float along the 300 year old canal and let the knowledgeable and experienced crew guide you on a journey to breathtaking sites such as the medieval fortified city of Carcassone and Narbonne.

On board, a spacious sun deck offers the perfect place to bask in the sun’s rays or enjoy a meal outdoors. The sundeck also holds a heated, sunken spa pool in which guests can relax among the Provencal scents of rosemary and lavender, refresh and enjoy a beautiful sunset during the warm evenings. When you feel like going for a ride, you can use one of the eight bikes provided to explore the areas you cruise through.

Anjodi is an intimate barge with a colourful interior that reflects the sunny, Mediterranean climate and landscape it passes through. In Anjodi‘s salon, Provencal style fabrics and furnishings blend with African style dark wood panelling and glossy brass fittings to create an ambiance that is warm and inviting. The comfortable sofas are an ideal spot to rest, read, listen to music and gaze out the picture windows. There is central heating and full air conditioning as well as an all-inclusive bar which offers a large range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

In the dining area, delicious breakfasts and lunches are offered buffet style and dinner is an elegant affair. In the warm glow of candlelight, the master chef will present you with gourmet cuisine that combines Provencal and traditional flavours and fine, regional wines. The highlight of your dining experience culminates in the captain’s dinner which occurs during the last evening on board and requires cocktail attire.

In addition to the master chef, the crew is also comprised the captain, hostess and tour guide whose kindness and concern for your comfort will ensure that your trip is a memorable one.
