Amadeus Silver

Golf Cruise on the Danube from Budapest

The latest addition to the Amadeus fleet, the Amadeus Silver, made its first cruises on the rivers of Europe in 2013. At 135 meters, she is substantially larger than the rest of the fleet, allowing for more spacious cabins and innovative new facilities. The Amadeus Silver accommodates up to 180 passengers in 78 standard cabins and 12 luxurious balcony suites, each one beautifully styled and equipped with all the amenities you would expect on a top class river cruiser.





Embark the ship in Budapest.

Day 1: Budapest

Arrive in Budapest and check in from 4pm this afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail as you settle into your cabin and explore the range of amenities on board. This evening the captain invites you to join the Welcome Dinner on board. In the mean time the the ship cruises through beautifully-illuminated Budapest, you will be briefed on all onshore excursions, golf clubs and starting times.

Day 2: Budapest -Esztergom

This morning, you will be transferred to the Pannónia Golf and Country Club, picturesquely situated in a valley bordering the Etyek wine region. In the afternoon, explore the former imperial residence and capital of Hungary, Esztergom and visit the famous Basilica. Should you choose to remain on board, enjoy an afternoon relaxing on deck as the vessel cruises through the Hungarian landscape. You arrive in Esztergom just before dinner, when your fellow passengers will rejoin the vessel.

Day 3: Bratislava

Today your cruise continues towards the Slovakian capital, Bratislava. On the morning sightseeing tour, you get to see the home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the old city walls, the summer residence of the archbishop and the current residence of the president of Slovakia. You can also walk through the restored old town, from Michael’s Gate, and admire sights such as the Primatial Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral, a former coronation cathedral for Hungarian kings. After your tour transfer to the Penati Golf Club, which is situated near the town of Senica and features the longest hole in Europe. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 4: Vienna

Arrive at the magnificent capital of Vienna. In the morning, you are transferred to the Fontana Golf Club, picturesquely situated about 30 kilometers south of Vienna, with a view of the Schneeberg, the highest mountain in Lower Austria, and the foothills of the Viennese Forest. After a round of golf, you return to Vienna and can enjoy a guided tour of the Austrian capital in the afternoon rich in culture and history.

Day 5: Durnstein - Emmersdorf

The romantic Wachau is one of the most beautiful landscape regions of Austria. In the morning, your ship docks in Dürnstein, a town well-known for its first-class wines. You will be transferred to the St. Pölten Golf Club in the morning, situated in an idyllic location south of the Dunkelstein forest, which surrounds Goldegg Castle. Some of the fairways run through the castle grounds themselves. Relax in the afternoon as you are transferred to the town of Melk, best known for its 11th century monastery, Melk Abbey, which is situated high above the town. You will have the opportunity to visit this magnificent Benedictine abbey - before the ship departs for Wachau and Linz in the evening.

Day 6: Linz - Passau

Early in the morning, the ship reaches the erstwhile cultural capital, Linz, where you can join an optional excursion to the legendary Mozart-town of Salzburg and the beautiful Salzkammergut, with lunch. If you choose to join the tour, you will rejoin the vessel in Passau. Those who opt to remain on board can enjoy a relaxing day cruising the beautiful Danube. In the late afternoon, the ship arrives in the three-rivers city of Passau, at the confluence of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz rivers. Tonight enjoy the Captain's Gala Dinner where you can taste a range of local dishes.

Day 7: Regensburg

Arrive in the Bavarian city of Regensburg, which has one of the most beautiful old towns in Germany. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts architecture is reflective of its varied history. You may join an optional walking tour of Regensburg in the morning as well as an optional excursion to Weltenburg Abbey in the afternoon. In the evening, enjoy the Champions-Cocktail as well as the Award Ceremony with the captain as your ship heads for Passau.

Day 8: Passau

Your journey ends in Passau. Disembark after your final breakfast.
