Amadeus Silver III

Classical Rhine - Amsterdam to Basel - 8 Days

The new Amadeus Silver III launches in 2016 and offers the same high level of comfort and style of its sister vessels. Guests can enjoy spacious public areas including the outdoor glass-shielded ‘River Terrace’ and Cafe Vienna. Measuring 135 feet in length, the ship is substantially larger than the rest of the fleet allowing for more spacious cabins and innovative new facilities. There are 84 spacious cabins furnished to a very high standard and a range of amenities including fitness room, hairdressers, sun deck with Lido bar, golf putting green, giant chess and shuffleboard.

Day 1: Amsterdam

Arrive in Amsterdam and check in from 4pm this afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail as you settle into your cabin, before joining the other guests for tonight's Welcome Dinner on board. This evening you can enjoy a Dutch folklore show on the ship.

Day 2: Amsterdam - Hoorn

Your day starts with an optional city tour of Amsterdam, including a cruise along the enchanting canals. Later, return to the ship as she sets sail along the Ijsselmeer. Arrive in Hoorn in the afternoon, where you can choose to join an optional excursion of the "Holland Waterland".

Day 3: Cologne

Spend the morning cruising towards Cologne, a cosmopolitan city with endless attractions. Upon arrival you may wish to join an optional guided city walk where you can admire the imposing Gothic Cathedral and numerous museums and galleries.

Day 4: Cochem

Cruise into the quaint wine-producing town of Cochem this afternoon. You may choose to join an optional guided walking tour of the city, followed by a wine tasting, before returning to the ship in time for dinner.

Day 5: Koblenz - Ruedesheim

This morning you may wish to join an optional walking tour of Koblenz, located at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle Rivers, before returning to the ship and continuing towards Ruedesheim. Late afternoon you can take an optional city walk of this enchanting city, including a visit to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum. Alternatively spend the evening at leisure, exploring Ruedesheim at your own pace.

Day 6: Mannheim - Speyer

Arrive into Mannheim early today where you may join an optional excursion to the ancient university town of Heidelberg, before continuing to Speyer. During the afternoon there is an optional walking tour of Speyer. Return to the ship in the early evening and prepare for the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 7: Strasbourg

This morning you cross into France and here you may choose to join an optional tour of the fascinating Alsatian capital of Strasbourg.

Day 8: Basel

Disembark the ship in Basel this morning, after enjoying your final breakfast on board.
