Amadeus Silver II

Golf Cruise on the Rhine from Basel

The Amadeus Silver II launched in April 2015 and continues the success of its sister vessel as well as implementing both new and familiar concepts including the outdoor glass-shielded ‘River Terrace’ and Cafe Vienna. Measuring 135 feet in length, the ship is substantially larger than the rest of the fleet allowing for more spacious cabins and innovative new facilities. There are 84 spacious cabins furnished to a very high standard and a range of amenities including fitness room, hairdressers, sun deck with Lido bar, golf putting green, giant chess and shuffleboard.

Embark the ship in Basel.

Day 1: Basel

Arrive in Basel and check in from 4pm this afternoon. Enjoy a welcome cocktail as you settle into your cabin and explore the range of amenities on board. This evening the captain invites you to join the Welcome Dinner on board where you will be briefed on all onshore excursions, golf clubs and starting times. In the mean time the ship will set sail for Strasbourg.

Day 2: Strasbourg

The ship arrives into France today. This morning you may wish to join an optional tour of the fascinating city of Strasbourg. In the morning, you are transferred to one of France’s best golf clubs - Le Kempferhof. The club is located 15 minutes from Strasbourg in the beautiful Alsace region of France and stretches over 85 hectares of tranquil, natural woodland. The afternoon you may join a walking tour and discover the highlights of the beautiful city of Strasbourg. Late tonight, your ship departs for Germany.

Day 3: Speyer - Mannheim

Before arriving in Speyer, you will be transferred to the St. Leon-Rot Golf Club near Heidelberg. The St. Leon-Rot Golf Club is one of the “Leading Golf Courses in Germany” as well as, since 2012, one of the “European Tour Destinations”. In the meantime, the ship continues for roughly 25 kilometres towards Mannheim, where you will rejoin it in the afternoon. Late at night, your ship continues in the direction of Rüdesheim.

Day 4: Rüdesheim

Arrive in Rüdesheim this morning, a town well known for its wine-making, especially of Riesling wines. In the morning, you will be transferred to the Jakobsberg Golf Club, where you can enjoy a round of golf and breathtaking views of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Middle Rhine Valley. Later rejoin the ship in Koblenz, one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful towns, where you can end the day with a walking tour through this charming location.

Day 5: Cochem

In the morning, enjoy a scenic drive along the most romantic part of the valley on the Moselle River, followed by a visit to Cochem an der Mosel Golf Club. Enjoy both technical challenges on the course as well as stunning views across the beautiful Moselle plateau. Rejoin the ship in the afternoon, when the ship arrives to Cochem after a detour along the Moselle River. Enjoy a walking tour through this town where you can admire the magnificent Reichsburg castle perched high above the town, dominating the landscape. Down below, the town with its narrow streets, half-timbered houses, and numerous restaurants are an ideal setting to taste the wines of the region. Return to the ship for dinner.

Day 6: Cologne
