Amadeus Brilliant

Classical Danube Cruise from Budapest to Passau (8 Days)

The Amadeus Brilliant, launched in April 2011, is one of the newest additions to the growing Amadeus fleet. Measuring 110 metres in length and 11.4 metres in width this beautiful vessel complements the existing fleet perfectly. With a total of 4 decks, the ship features just 67 cabins and 9 additional suites, all with en suite shower facilities and most of which offer a French balcony. Other amenities include a spacious sun deck with sun loungers, international restaurant serving exquisite cuisine and an intimate lounge bar.





Embark in Budapest at 16.00hrs.

Day 1: Budapest

Arrive in Budapest and board your luxury Amadeus cruise ship from 16:00 hours this afternoon. Settle into your cabin and explore the range of onboard amenities. Join your fellow guests for a Welcome Cocktail before your Welcome Dinner is served in the restaurant. Later, relax in the lounge and enjoy a gentle evening cruise - "Budapest by Night" - with a traditional folklore programme to entertain you.

Day 2: Budapest

You may choose from two optional excursions in Budapest today. The first is a city tour, taking in the main highlights of this enchanting capital. See the Fisherman's Bastion, Matthias Church, St Stephen's Cathedral and enjoy the fine views from Buda Castle. The second choice is an excursion to the artists' settlement of Szentendre and the town of Esztergom, located in the scenic Danube Bend region. Alternatively, spend the day at leisure, before setting sail during the afternoon.

Day 3: Bratislava

Arriving in Bratislava early this morning there is an optional city tour, which you may wish to join. In the afternoon is an optional guided tour of the Imperial Schlosshof Palace in the afternoon.

Day 4: Vienna

Wake in Vienna this morning and choose from a variety of optional excursions. You may opt for a morning city tour, showcasing all the main attractions. Later today you can visit Schonbrunn Palace or spend the afternoon exploring independently. This evening you may attend an optional concert "Sound of Vienna". Otherwise, spend your evening at leisure, exploring this grand city. The ship departs from Vienna in the early hours.

Day 5: Durnstein - Emmersdorf

Arrive in Durnstein this morning where you may join an optional walking tour with wine tasting session. Later that day the ship arrives in Emmersdorf where there is an optional afternoon to the impressive Benedictine Abbey at Melk. Depart from the Wachau in the evening and continue your journey west along the Danube.

Day 6: Linz - Passau

You will arrive in Linz early this morning, ready for an optional city walking tour. You may also choose to join a full day excursion to Salzburg and the lakes and mountains region of the Salzkammergut. Rejoin the ship in Aschach. The ship sets sail for Passau, arriving late this afternoon where you may join an optional walking tour of Passau. In the evening enjoy the Captain's Gala Dinner aboard the ship.

Day 7: Regensburg

Sailing overnight, the ship reaches Regensburg this morning and you may disembark for an optional walking tour of the historic city centre. In the afternoon you may wish to join an excursion to Weltenburg Monastery before returning to the ship in time for a Bavarian evening on board.

Day 8: Passau

Disembark in Passau after a final breakfast on board.
