Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is surrounded and shaped by the sea and the provincial capital, Halifax, is the largest city of Atlantic Canada. You can see historic ships at the Maritime Museum on the Halifax waterfront or visit Baddeck, a picturesque village on Cape Breton island, where Alexander Graham Bell had a summer home and laboratory where he worked on his great invention, the telephone. On Prince Edward Island you can drop in at Green Gables, an old farmhouse that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery to write Anne of Green Gables. In the remote archipelago of the Îles de la Madeleine you’ll find French culture and numerous arts and crafts galleries. In the Bay of Fundy you have opportunities for whale watching – Minke, Humpback and Fin whales are frequent visitors to the area.
