Mekhala
Mekhala is a restored rice barge, constructed from huge teak planks. This hundred-year-old work horse has been transformed into an elegant floating hotel. The cabins are immaculately appointed and come with air-conditioning and en suite Western style bathrooms. The boat features a spacious deck for sunbathing or lounging, audio entertainment, a library, a host of indoor games and of course a fully stocked bar. Vat Phou
The Vat Phou was originally built to ferry teak between Vientiane and the South of Laos. The 34-metre steel-hulled vessel was converted into a floating hotel in 1993 but still retains a character that is remarkably oriental. The ship has twelve spacious cabins, each one comfortably furnished and with en suite facilities.
